Have you ever defined your characters, plugged them into a story arc and then have them actually go to where you thought they would be going? For me that “flying by the seat of the pants” is simply letting the characters dictate where they want to be and then fitting it into the story that you want to tell. Sometimes you have to exert authority over them but usually they know the story better than does the “author”.
Indeed. The day my writing becomes my own is the day I stop writing. I’m a “pantser” through and through.
That’s not a problem – it’s the best feeling ever!!! 😀
